When any aspect of us is ill, challenged or stagnant, the other parts stand in line to take on the burdens of healing, management or coping. If we want to heal, we must take a WHOLE perspective. This requires much more than what modern medicine can offer. You need a RADICAL WELLNESS approach.
Healthspan is the concept that extends our optimal function into our live's longevity and vitality. There are so many variables that contribute to how well we age including our relationship with food, gut health, stress management, detoxing our bodies and our environments, exposure to endocrine disruptors, sleep hygiene, setting health goals, reducing cholesterol, insulin resistance and weight management and inflammation control.
Our genes have great influence in how we live out our later years. Many of the genes we carry show no evidence of problems in our youth. As we age and our cellular function is compromised, we start to see just how these variations affect everything from weight management to immunity to energy production. Outside influences affect the expression of our genes. Learning how and what actions we can take to experience optimal function is key to increasing our HEALTHSPAN.
Functional medicine, using the blueprint of lifestyle management and everyday choices, is informed by current scientific research in both physical and mental wellness. Our exposure to forever chemicals, plastics and commercialized food production coupled with the lack of awareness and solutions for navigating our health span is why we need the training the Eir Method provides for Aging Well.
